Worth knowing before you book. Rear yards on the terraced streets are shared or overlooked more often than in Enfield, so where the unit points is worth agreeing before it is fitted rather than after a neighbour asks.

Do I need planning permission in Wood Green?
Usually not. A single outdoor unit under 0.6 cubic metres, more than a metre from the boundary, not on a wall facing a highway and not on a flat above ground level, sits inside permitted development.
Haringey has conservation areas, and inside one the permitted development route closes for anything on a front or side elevation facing a road. The eight conditions are set out here.
Can it go in if my flat is a conversion?
Often yes, but the freeholder's written consent comes first and it is the thing that takes the time, not the installation. Most conversion leases treat an external unit as an alteration to the structure.
