LG air conditioning costs 2,400 to 3,200 pounds for one room in London, supplied and fitted including VAT. The Dual Inverter compressor is the part worth knowing about: it is the reason LG can sit near the top of the efficiency tables without a flagship price.
As with every make, the installation price is set by access, pipe run and electrics rather than by the badge.

The LG ranges we fit
| Range | What it is for | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Plus / Deluxe wall | Most rooms. The volume choice | Dual Inverter, R-32, plain white |
| ARTCOOL Mirror | Rooms where the unit is on show | Mirrored or matt front instead of white plastic |
| ARTCOOL Gallery | The same idea, taken further | A flat panel that can take a picture frame |
| Multi-split outdoor | Two to five indoor units on one outdoor unit | Mix ranges across the rooms |
| Ceiling cassette | Where the ceiling has a void | Four-way, standard tile size |
| Ducted | Grilles only, unit concealed | The invisible option |
What the Dual Inverter actually is
Two rotary compression chambers instead of one, running out of phase. The practical effect is that the compressor runs smoothly at very low output instead of having to keep stopping and starting, which is where an air conditioner both makes noise and wastes electricity.
It matters most in the situation people care about most: a bedroom at three in the morning, where the room needs almost no cooling and a lesser system spends the night cycling. It is a real engineering difference rather than a name on a brochure.
It is also why LG appears near the top of efficiency tables without charging flagship money, and it is the honest reason to consider one.
Where LG sits against Daikin and Mitsubishi
Slightly behind on the very quietest indoor units. The best Daikin and Mitsubishi wall units reach 19 dB(A) at their lowest fan speed and LG's typically sit a little above that. In a normal room nobody would pick it out; in a light sleeper's bedroom, the difference is worth paying for.
Level or ahead on efficiency for the money, and ahead on the look of the thing if the ARTCOOL front suits the room.
Behind on the depth of the UK spare parts network in year ten. Daikin and Mitsubishi have more of it. That is a genuine consideration on a machine you expect to keep for fifteen years and it is not a reason to avoid LG.
What it costs, and why the brand is not the reason
This is the same table as everywhere else on this site, and that is deliberate. Across the brands we fit, the indoor unit is a minority of an installed price. The rest is the pipe run, the core drilling, the electrical work, the outdoor position and the commissioning, and none of that changes because of the badge on the front.
| Job | System | Installed price |
|---|---|---|
| One bedroom | 2.5kW single split | £2,400 to £3,200 |
| One double bedroom | 3.5kW single split | £2,550 to £3,500 |
| One living room | 5kW single split | £2,750 to £3,850 |
| Two rooms | 2 unit multi-split | £4,300 to £5,800 |
| Three rooms | 3 unit multi-split | £6,400 to £8,600 |
| Ceiling cassette, per room | Add to the above | +£500 to £900 |
| Annual service | Any make | £95 plus VAT |

The other brands we fit
We are not tied to any manufacturer, which is the reason the comparisons on these pages are written the way they are. We would rather put the right unit in the room than the one with the best margin.
Midea
The unit itself is cheaper than a Daikin or a Mitsubishi, but the unit is the smaller half of an installed price, so the saving is real and modest.
MideaDaikin
The Perfera and the Stylish both run down to 19 dB(A) on their lowest fan speed, which is quieter than rustling leaves.
DaikinMitsubishi Electric
The MSZ-LN runs at 19 dB(A) on its lowest fan speed and is the most refined wall unit the brand makes.
Mitsubishi ElectricEverything we install
Also LG, Panasonic, Toshiba, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Midea, chosen by the room rather than by brand loyalty.

LG air conditioning: common questions
How much is an LG air conditioning installation in London?
2,400 to 3,200 pounds for one room supplied and fitted including VAT, and 4,300 to 5,800 pounds for two rooms on one outdoor unit.
The badge is a smaller part of that than most people expect. The pipe run, the outdoor position and the electrical work move it more. The cost page has the breakdown.
Is LG as good as Daikin?
For most rooms, yes, and for a bedroom where someone is a light sleeper, the best Daikin and Mitsubishi units are a little quieter at their lowest fan speed.
Where LG is genuinely strong is efficiency for the price, because of the Dual Inverter compressor. We fit all three and we will tell you which we would put in your room.
Do you service LG systems you did not install?
Yes, any make and any age. An annual service is 95 pounds plus VAT and a fault diagnosis is 89 pounds plus VAT, waived if we do the repair. See servicing.
