Heat pump
Enfield EN3
Samsung monobloc air source heat pump
Set tight against the flank wall on anti-vibration feet, where it takes up none of the usable garden and the pipe run to the cylinder stays short.
Air conditioning in Enfield Highway EN3
Photographs of finished work across London, with the borough, the equipment and what is worth looking at in each one. 34 located jobs below, every one our own.

These are installations carried out by Electro Heating Limited, which trades as Climate Shield London. The same engineers who survey a job carry it out, and the certification is issued in the company's name.
Each photograph is captioned with what it shows. There are no case-study numbers on this page because savings depend on the house, the tariff and how the system is run, and a figure from someone else's home tells you nothing reliable about yours.
Sorted north to south. Boroughs we cover link through to what the job normally involves there.
Heat pump

Set tight against the flank wall on anti-vibration feet, where it takes up none of the usable garden and the pipe run to the cylinder stays short.
Air conditioning in Enfield Highway EN3
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus 7 kW air source heat pump
Stood on rubber anti-vibration blocks on the existing patio slabs rather than on a new base, against the rear fence and beside the drainage the house already had.
Air conditioning in Enfield Highway EN3
Heat pump
Vaillant hot water cylinder and controller
The cylinder from the same job, in the cupboard the old boiler's hot water came from, with the controller at eye height and the valves grouped where an engineer can reach them.
Air conditioning in Enfield Highway EN3
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus air source heat pump
A gas boiler out and a heat pump in over three days, a few streets from our own base. The unit stands beside the garden decking on anti-vibration feet, with the pipework taken along the fence line.
Air conditioning in Southgate N14
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus 7 kW air source heat pump
Replaced an old gas boiler in three days. Raised on feet over a gravel bed at the side of the garden, so the defrost water drains away rather than pooling round the base.
Air conditioning in Cockfosters EN4
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus 7 kW air source heat pump
There was no room for it in the garden, so it went on the flat roof, stood on rubber blocks over a protective mat so the roof covering carries no point load.
Islington
Heat pump, solar and battery
Vaillant air source heat pump with solar panels and a battery
The panels on the roof run the heat pump through the day and the battery carries it into the evening, so the house buys far less from the grid. The unit sits on raised feet against the rear wall.
Greater London
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus air source heat pump
The owner wanted the indoor equipment out of the living space, so it went into the loft. The outdoor unit has its own base in the garden. Three days, gas boiler out.
Haringey
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus air source heat pump
Fitted in three days as part of a renovation, replacing the gas boiler. It now runs the underfloor heating and the hot water, from a unit on blocks in the side return.
Hackney
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus 7 kW air source heat pump
Built around underfloor heating during a renovation: the old system out and the heat pump running in three days, set on anti-vibration feet on a level base against the fence.
Tower Hamlets
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus air source heat pump
A smaller unit, sized to what the house actually needs rather than rounded up, fitted in three days during a renovation. It stands on blocks against the house wall.
Waltham Forest
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus air source heat pump
Gas boiler to heat pump in three days, with the grant approved within 48 hours. The unit stands on anti-vibration feet on a concrete pad close to the house, which keeps the pipe run short.
Barnet
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus air source heat pump
Set into the corner of the garden against the fence on a raised base, clear of the lawn, replacing a gas boiler over three days.
Brent
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus 7 kW air source heat pump
A Holland Park house taken off gas in three days. The outdoor unit fits a narrow side passage, and the cylinder is only a short run away from it.
Greater London
Heat pump
Samsung 12 kW high temperature air source heat pump
A two-zone system with a 300-litre cylinder and a buffer tank, 15 metres of pipework run underground to the unit on its own concrete base, and radiators replaced where they were too small for a heat pump.
Ealing
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus 7 kW with a 300-litre cylinder
Outside, the unit stands against the side wall on its feet. Inside, a 300-litre uniSTOR cylinder, wireless controls and a 25-litre buffer vessel.
Air conditioning in Brentford TW8
Heat pump and solar
Air source heat pump with roof-mounted solar
The panels sit across the rear pitch and the heat pump at the side of the house, which is the pairing that lets the pump run on its own generation through the middle of the day.
Air conditioning in Winchmore Hill N21
Heat pump
Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump
An Ecodan stood off the boundary fence far enough that the fan discharge is not bouncing straight back off it, which is what makes a badly sited unit sound louder than it is.
Air conditioning in Winchmore Hill N21
Heat pump
Cascade pair of air source heat pumps
Two machines in cascade on a flat roof, flow and return in insulated copper with isolating valves on each leg, so one can be shut down and worked on while the other keeps the building warm.
Air conditioning in Cockfosters EN4
Heat pump
Samsung air source heat pump with hydrobox
Heat pump and hydrobox both outside in the side passage, which keeps the whole system out of the house and leaves the cupboard the old boiler used.
Air conditioning in North Finchley N12
Air conditioning
Daikin multi-split condenser
Wall-mounted on brackets rather than stood on the ground, which is usually what a narrow side return leaves you, and the refrigerant lines dropped in a single trunked run.
Air conditioning in New Southgate N11
Heat pump
Samsung monobloc air source heat pump
Stood on a levelled base built up out of the border rather than on soil, so the feet stay out of standing water and the unit does not settle out of level over a winter.
Air conditioning in Wood Green N22
Heat pump, solar and battery
Air source heat pump with solar and battery storage
The whole electrical side on one wall: inverter, battery modules and every isolator in reach, with the conduit dressed in straight runs so a fault years from now can be traced without stripping the wall.
Air conditioning in Tottenham N15
Heat pump
Samsung monobloc air source heat pump
Levelled on packers on an existing tiled patio rather than bolted through it, so the tiling stays intact and the unit still sits dead flat.
Air conditioning in Camden Town NW1
Heat pump
Samsung monobloc air source heat pump
On its own slab set clear of the fence line, with the condensate taken away below ground level instead of being left to run across the paving and freeze.
Air conditioning in Leytonstone E11
Heat pump
Vaillant aroTHERM plus air source heat pump
An aroTHERM plus on a poured pad against the boundary fence, with the drain point brought out through the pad so the defrost water has somewhere to go.
Greater London
Heat pump
Air source heat pump
Flow and return brought up the wall as one insulated pair in a single clipped run, which is the difference between pipework that looks designed and pipework that looks added.
Air conditioning in Richmond TW9
Heat pump
Bosch air source heat pump
Installed on a flat roof on a raised frame, so the roof covering carries no point load and rainwater still runs freely underneath.
Air conditioning in Kingston KT1
Heat pump
Samsung air source heat pump
Sited round the corner from the conservatory glazing rather than beside it, because a fan discharging at glass is the most common cause of a noise complaint about a unit that is running perfectly.
Air conditioning in Walton-on-Thames KT12
Heat pump
Samsung air source heat pump
Set into a planted border on a hard base, far enough off the wall for the service access the manufacturer asks for and close enough that the pipe run stays short.
Air conditioning in Epsom KT19
Heat pump
Vaillant twin-fan air source heat pump
A larger twin-fan machine raised onto a brick plinth, which lifts the coil clear of leaf litter and puts the fans above the level a low fence would reflect.
Air conditioning in Wimbledon SW19
Heat pump
Samsung air source heat pump
Fitted down the side passage on a proper base, with the isolator mounted at the house wall where it can be reached without walking past the unit.
Air conditioning in South Croydon CR2
Solar
Roof-mounted solar array
Panels on a flat roof carried on tilted frames rather than laid flat, which is what brings a London flat roof close to the yield of a south-facing pitch.
Air conditioning in Brentford TW8
Heat pump and battery
Samsung heat pump with Tesla Powerwall
Heat pump and battery on the same elevation, so the pump can be run off stored generation through the evening peak instead of off the most expensive electricity of the day.
Air conditioning in Hemel Hempstead HP1The things in these photographs that decide whether a system is quiet, efficient and still working in ten years.
Every unit here stands on something built for it: a poured pad, a plinth, a raised frame on a flat roof. A heat pump left on soil settles out of level, and a compressor out of level is a compressor wearing out early.
Manufacturers publish a minimum distance to the wall behind and in front of the coil. Ignore it and the unit re-breathes its own cold discharge air, the efficiency drops in exactly the weather you bought it for, and it ices up more often.
Flow and return insulated as one clipped pair, condensate taken somewhere it can actually drain, isolating valves where an engineer can reach them without dismantling anything.
Yes. They were carried out by Electro Heating Limited, company number 12609754, which is the company trading as Climate Shield London. It is the same legal entity, the same engineers and the same certification, under the name we use for this work.
That is why the photographs can be published with the equipment and the location on them. They are not a portfolio bought in or borrowed.
Because the quotations belong to the customers who received them. What we can publish is the shape of the pricing across many jobs, and that is what the cost pages and the calculators are built from.
If you want a number for your own property, the survey is free and the written price after it does not move.
Air conditioning is the larger part of what we do; it is simply photographed less, because an indoor unit on a wall makes a duller picture than a machine in a garden. There is a Daikin condenser from New Southgate on this page and more on the installation page.
An air-to-air heat pump and an air conditioner are the same machine. If you want heating and cooling from one system, that is the one to ask about.
Where a customer has agreed to it, yes. Ask at the survey and we will tell you what we have nearby and whether that householder is happy to be contacted.
We will not give out an address or a name without that permission, which is the same protection you get.
We come out, measure the property, and give you a written price that does not change. No cost, no obligation, and no salesperson.
